What if I don't like the redesign?
Tell us. Or pick a different designer. We'll send you another. There's no card on file until you point your domain at us - so you can walk away costing yourself nothing.
How do you choose my designer?
If you leave it on Match me, we read your site and who it's for, then assign the designer whose style fits your business best - the way you'd brief a studio. Prefer to choose yourself? Pick any of the five. Either way, you can switch anytime.
I'm on Wix or Squarespace already. How does this work?
You stay on Wix until you decide to switch. We rebuild your site as a fresh, modern version on our hosting. When you're ready, you subscribe and point your domain at us. The old site goes quiet; the new one goes live. We don't touch your Wix account.
What about my email? My SSL? My current domain?
Your domain stays where you bought it - GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google, wherever. You just point its DNS at us. Your email at that domain keeps working untouched, because we don't run mail. SSL is automatic and free, applied the moment your domain points at us.
Where's my site hosted, and is it reliable?
On Google Cloud's global network - a static build served through a global CDN, so pages load fast from near your visitor. We also check several times a day that your live site is responding and its certificate is valid, so we usually spot a problem before you would. No website is up 100% of the time and we won't pretend otherwise, but there's no WordPress, plugin, or database to fall over, which removes the most common ways small-business sites break. More on how we host.
Is my site secure, and can it get hacked?
Your site is static HTML. There's no WordPress, no plugins, no database, and no admin login to break into, so the attack surface that hits most small-business sites simply isn't there. SSL is automatic, and we never put your site live on a domain until you've proven you own it.
Is my site backed up?
Yes - in more than one way. Your site's source lives in a private repository with full version history, every published version is archived to separate cloud storage, and we keep prior published versions, so a change can be rolled back. You can download your whole site as a zip from your dashboard any time - even after you cancel. And the records that run your site - your domain, subscription and change history - are backed up twice a day to separate cloud storage, with a restore we've tested.
How fast do changes actually happen?
Usually within a day. Often within an hour. The ceiling on speed is your designer's queue, not a ticket system. If something's urgent, say so in the email.
Who owns the design and the code?
You do. Both. The site your designer makes is yours, the underlying code is yours, the content is yours. We're hosting and refining it on your behalf, not licensing you a template you have to give back.
Can I sell things on this?
Light ecommerce - a contact form that takes orders, a Stripe button, a Calendly link - works fine and your designer will wire it. A full store with hundreds of products and a real cart is not what we built this for. If that's what you need, use Shopify.
What if you disappear like my last designer?
Your domain stays yours. Your code stays yours. If we ever go away, you take the files and host them somewhere else. We'll send them on request, anytime, no questions.
Can I cancel?
Anytime. You won't have to call us. Click cancel; we stop billing. You keep the site - we'll send you the files.
Do you build new sites from scratch?
Not yet. We start from the website you already have, because that's where the pain actually is.
When are you not the right fit?
Three cases. If you need a big online store with hundreds of products and a real cart, Shopify is the better tool. If you don't have a website yet, we can't redesign one - we start from the site you already have. And if you genuinely enjoy building and tweaking it yourself, a builder like Wix or Squarespace will suit you better than we will.
Should I just use Wix or Squarespace instead?
If you want to build and maintain the site yourself, yes - they're genuinely good at that. The difference is who does the work. With a builder, you're the designer, the editor, and the help desk, forever. With us, a designer makes your site and stays on to change it whenever you ask. Same site, very different amount of your time.
